David Beckham Has OCD
Soccer (Football?) star David Beckham says that he has OCD. According to this article on the (UK) Daily Mail website,
He said the condition leads him to count clothes and place magazines in straight lines and symmetrical patterns. And he added that one of the reasons why he keeps having tattoos is that he is addicted to the pain of the needle.
Because he is one of the most admired sports stars in the world, this announcement should go a ways towards helping to reduce stigma and shame associated with OCD and with mental conditions in general. At least we can hope that would be the net effect.
