Charles Ihrig

Charles Ihrig is a Licensed Psychologist and Licensed Professional Counselor who founded Athena Care in 2001. Under his guidance, the practice has grown into one of Tennessee's largest private mental health providers, offering diverse psychological services across the state.

Ihrig holds a Ph.D. in counseling psychology from Tennessee State University. He completed his internship and residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center's Department of Psychiatry, gaining comprehensive training in both adult and child psychiatry. His academic roles include serving as an Adjunct Professor at Tennessee State University and Vanderbilt University.

Dr. Ihrig works with clients of all ages, focusing on diagnostic evaluations, including assessments for Asperger's/Autism, ADHD, and conducting pre-surgery and forensic evaluations. His approach integrates advanced interventions such as TMS and Spravato therapy. Clients can expect a thorough and insightful evaluation process.
