Kaylan Hand

Empowering clients through a systemic and multicultural lens, Kaylan Hand, LMFT, brings a wealth of experience to her role as Director at HC Counseling Augusta. As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Certified Sex Therapy Informed Professional, Kaylan's approach is both comprehensive and deeply personal.

Kaylan's journey into therapy was sparked by a universal calling to help others, fully realized during her senior year of high school when she took AP Psychology. Her personal experiences with depression, grief, and anxiety have shaped her empathetic approach to therapy, allowing her to provide the support that so many clients need.

With a strong academic foundation, Kaylan holds both an undergraduate degree in Psychology and a master's in Marriage and Family Therapy. Her involvement with the Women's and Genders Studies Program during her college years fostered a passion for assisting women, which continues to influence her therapeutic work today.

Kaylan's practice is characterized by a systemic view, considering all aspects, connections, and relationships when addressing her clients' challenges. She works through a multicultural lens, integrating each client's unique cultural background into the therapeutic process. As an ally of the LGBTQ community, Kaylan strives to create a positive and accepting environment for all her clients.

Drawing from her own life experiences, Kaylan relates to her clients on a personal level, helping them create narratives that work better for their challenges and reframing troubling aspects of their lives. She believes in meeting clients where they are and assisting them in building the change they want to see. Kaylan's trauma-informed approach, combined with her expertise in working with couples, individuals, and the LGBTQ Community, makes her a versatile and skilled therapist capable of addressing a wide range of client needs.
