About

With a warm, compassionate, and relaxed therapeutic approach, Sarah Nyboer, LPC, guides clients through some of life's most challenging moments. Specializing in trauma, divorce, and self-harm, Sarah's practice is built on a foundation of intersectionality, recognizing the multiple layers that make up each individual's experience.

Sarah's journey in mental health began at Aquinas College, where she earned her Bachelor's degree in Psychology in 2016. She then pursued her Master's degree in Counselor Education: Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Western Michigan University, graduating in 2019. Her internship at a local non-profit serving survivors of domestic and sexual violence provided invaluable experience, leading to her employment as a therapist post-graduation.

Her ability to view clients through an intersectional lens allows for a deeper, more nuanced understanding of each person's struggles and strengths.

Sarah offers individual and family therapy for a wide age range, from children as young as 6 to adults up to 65 years old. While her specialties lie in trauma, divorce, and self-harm, she is confident in addressing a multitude of other mental health concerns. Her therapeutic style creates a safe, non-judgmental space where clients can explore their challenges and work towards healing.

Understanding that seeking therapy can be a vulnerable and confusing process, Sarah strives to make the journey as comfortable as possible. She welcomes new clients with empathy and understanding, acknowledging the courage it takes to start therapy.
