Allison's journey in mental health began with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Winthrop University, where she focused on Women's Studies. She further honed her skills by earning a Master's Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine. Throughout her career, Allison has gained invaluable experience in various therapeutic settings. She began by working with individuals diagnosed with Bi-Polar, Schizophrenia, Obsessive Compulsive Disorders, and Panic Disorders in a Psychosocial Clubhouse setting. Her graduate internship at The Renfrew Center of North Carolina provided her with specialized training in treating eating disorders, working as both a group and individual therapist in an intensive outpatient program.

Allison's expertise extends beyond clinical practice. She spent four years as a researcher for the Department of Neuropsychiatry Division of Biological Research at the University of South Carolina, focusing on studies involving Schizophrenia and Addictions. This research experience informs her evidence-based approach to therapy, allowing her to integrate cutting-edge findings into her practice.

In private practice since 2018, Allison has refined her skills in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and integrative modalities. She specializes in treating Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, Binge eating disorders, and EDNOS (Eating Disorder Not Otherwise Specified). Her holistic approach to therapy encompasses not just eating disorders, but also recovery from traumatic experiences, abuse recovery, couples therapy, OCD, anxiety, and depression.
