Ashley Call
LCSW • Licensed Clinical Social Worker
About
From community health centers to crisis intervention, Ashley Call, LCSW, brings a wealth of experience to her role as a therapist. Her journey in mental health began at a young age, fostering a passion that has only grown stronger over time. After earning her Master's of Social Work from the University of Utah, Ashley has dedicated herself to working with teenagers and adults of all ages, addressing a wide spectrum of mental health challenges.
Ashley's experience at a community health center has equipped her with the skills to manage complex mental health issues, including PTSD, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia. She has also navigated the intricate barriers posed by socioeconomic status and intellectual challenges, providing her with a holistic understanding of her clients' needs. Her extensive background in crisis work and safety assessment showcases her ability to stabilize symptoms and provide immediate support in critical situations.
Recognizing that life's challenges can often feel overwhelming and isolating, Ashley approaches therapy with the belief that her clients are the experts of their own lives. She creates a safe, supportive environment where individuals can explore personal and religious beliefs, navigate relationships, and address sexual/gender orientation concerns. Her therapeutic approach is rooted in evidence-based practices, including Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Prolonged Exposure Therapy for PTSD (PET), Attachment theory principles, Dialectic Behavioral Therapies, and Mindfulness.
Ashley is particularly passionate about working with the LGBTQ+ community, offering queer-affirming care that respects and celebrates diversity. Her commitment to creating an inclusive therapeutic space allows clients to feel truly seen and understood as they work through their unique challenges.
When she's not in the therapy room, Ashley maintains a vibrant life outside of work. You might find her hiking with her dog, engaging in the exhilarating sport of roller derby, practicing yoga, or tending to her house plants. These personal interests not only contribute to her own well-being but also inform her holistic approach to mental health, recognizing the importance of a balanced lifestyle in overall wellness.
