Smith's professional journey began with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Metropolitan State College of Denver in 2003. She earned her Master of Arts in Counseling from Colorado Christian University in 2010 and became a Licensed Professional Counselor in 2012. Her experience includes work with at-risk adolescents and as a Mental Health Coordinator in the prison system.

Smith employs Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, among other modalities, to address trauma and substance abuse.
