David Rangel

David Rangel is a Clinical Mental Health Counseling Graduate Student Intern at Elite Performance Counseling. He works with diverse populations, focusing on life transitions and trauma, informed by his decade-long military service as a combat medic and paramedic.

Rangel's path to counseling began during his tenure as a Platoon Sergeant at the Fort Sam Houston Warrior Transition Battalion, where he recognized the vital role of mental health services. After medically retiring as a Sergeant First Class in December 2019, he pursued a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at St. Mary's University in San Antonio, TX, building on his psychology degree from The University of Texas at Austin.

Fluent in English and American Sign Language, Rangel is eager to support the Deaf community. His approach integrates evidence based interventions, mindfulness, existential, and person centered therapy. Clients can expect a non judgmental space to explore their mental health needs.
