About

At the heart of Dawn Franks' therapeutic approach lies a profound belief in the power of spiritual dimensions to foster healing. As a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Supervisor (LCMHCS) at the Counseling Center at Concord, Dawn brings a unique perspective to her practice, integrating Christian principles with professional mental health counseling.

"I believe healing, both physically and emotionally, begins with an understanding and recognition of the spiritual dimensions found in a Christian perspective that God is ultimately the source of healing through his love, truth, and grace," Dawn states, encapsulating her core philosophy. This approach forms the foundation of her work, offering clients a holistic path to emotional and spiritual well-being.

Dawn's educational background is as diverse as it is impressive. She holds a Master of Arts (MA) degree, likely in a counseling-related field, as well as a Master of Divinity (M.Div.). This combination of theological training and clinical expertise allows her to provide a unique blend of spiritual insight and evidence-based therapeutic techniques in her counseling sessions.

As part of the Counseling Center at Concord, established in 1995 as a joint effort of the Cabarrus Baptist Association and the Counseling Center of Charlotte, Dawn contributes to the center's mission of helping both Christians and non-Christians with their spiritual and emotional needs. Her role as a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Supervisor also suggests that she plays a mentoring role, guiding other counselors in their professional development.

Dawn offers a flexible schedule to accommodate her clients' needs, with a mix of virtual and in-person sessions. She sees clients virtually on Mondays from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm, Tuesdays from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, and Thursdays from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. For those preferring face-to-face interactions, she offers in-person sessions on Wednesdays from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.

While Dawn's practice is grounded in Christian principles, the Counseling Center at Concord serves a diverse clientele, including members of churches within the Cabarrus Baptist Association and the community at large. This inclusive approach allows Dawn to extend her compassionate care and professional expertise to a wide range of individuals seeking support and guidance in their mental health journey.
