Jay Tunnicliffe

Jay Tunnicliffe, MSW, LCSW, CSSW, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and the founder and lead therapist at Cardinal Counseling Associates. He is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and specializes in working with LGBTQ+ clients, individuals struggling with emotional regulation, and those seeking to bolster their self-esteem.

He earned a graduate degree from Rutgers University and is a New Jersey Certified School Social Worker. His early work included full-time engagement with the New Jersey School-based Youth Services Program across numerous schools in Southern New Jersey.

He also draws on volunteer efforts with local youth organizations and mentorship of area youth to inform his practice. Jay emphasizes building trusting, nonjudgmental relationships and tailoring evidence-based techniques to help clients develop practical skills and resilience.
