Michael Schreiner

Passion for authenticity and healing drives Michael Schreiner's approach to therapy at Rivertown Wellness. As a counselor with a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Ashland Theological Seminary, Michael creates a safe space for individuals to be fully themselves while processing hurt and moving through pain.

Michael's journey to becoming a therapist is unique, blending diverse experiences that inform his practice. After earning his bachelor's degree in Bible & Theology from Malone University in 2007 and a Master of Arts in Old Testament from Ashland Theological Seminary in 2010, he spent five years working with orphaned and vulnerable children in Mexico and India. This experience ignited his passion for providing safe spaces for individuals to grow and heal.

Upon returning to the United States, Michael spent eight years in corporate management, where he encountered numerous individuals in need of a compassionate listener. This realization led him back to school to pursue his counseling degree. Now, as a graduate student completing his clinical practicum under the supervision of Ben Linden, MA LPCC-S, Michael collaborates with the Rivertown Wellness team to provide comprehensive mental health services.

Michael specializes in adolescent counseling, individual counseling, and couples counseling. His areas of expertise include behavioral therapy, life transitions, coping skills, career development, trauma, depression, and anxiety. With sessions starting at $85, Michael strives to make mental health support accessible to those in need.

When not in the therapy room, Michael cherishes time with his wife and two daughters. An avid outdoor enthusiast, he can often be found hiking, biking, running, golfing, or playing various sports. His love for exploration extends to trying new activities, like cricket, and immersing himself in the vibrant Cincinnati community. Michael's passion for cooking and enjoyment of a good book or podcast with his morning coffee reflect his belief in the importance of self-care and continuous learning.
