Pamela Altemos is a licensed clinical social worker and registered yoga teacher who helps survivors of trauma reconnect mind and body. Altemos works with people facing sexual trauma, childhood abuse, adjustment challenges, and identity development in LGBTQ+ communities.
Altemos holds a Bachelor of Arts from Bowling Green State University and a Master of Social Work from the University of Maryland School of Social Work. With over 16 years of experience, she has worked in higher education, non profit organizations, community psychiatry, and private practice, gaining a broad perspective on mental health care.
In her practice, Altemos uses modalities such as EMDR, DBT, IFS, and mindfulness-based stress reduction. Clients can expect a calm and supportive environment where they can explore their experiences and develop relational skills. Her approach encourages a compassionate relationship with the self, fostering healing and growth.
