With over a decade of experience working with juvenile and juvenile offender populations, Patricia Whynot brings a wealth of knowledge and compassion to her role as a Licensed Professional Counselor-Associate. Specializing in trauma therapy, Patricia employs powerful, scientifically-proven techniques such as Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to help clients navigate their path to healing.

Patricia's journey in mental health counseling began at Texas Woman's University, where she earned her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health. This rigorous academic foundation, combined with her extensive practical experience, has equipped her with the clinical knowledge and skills necessary to provide effective, compassionate care. Her work with survivors of sexual abuse, physical/emotional abuse, and neglect has fueled her passion for trauma recovery and survivorship.

At the core of Patricia's practice is a non-judgmental and multiculturally informed approach. She works with clients from diverse backgrounds across a broad age range, demonstrating particular skill in counseling young children, teens, and their caregivers. Patricia understands the crucial role that parent/caregiver partnerships play in achieving improved therapeutic outcomes, and she strives to create a collaborative environment that supports holistic healing.

Patricia's areas of expertise extend beyond trauma to encompass a wide range of mental health concerns. She utilizes evidence-based interventions to help clients dealing with anxiety, depression, disordered eating, substance abuse, domestic violence, suicidal ideation, sleep dysfunction, LGBTQIA+ identity issues, and more. Her practice is founded on the belief that everyone deserves the chance to be fully seen and to begin the process of healing their pain.
