Paul Gaines

Paul Gaines is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor with dual master’s degrees: a Master of Education with a concentration in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Bridgewater State College, and a Master of Social Work from the University of Connecticut with a focus on substance use and mental health in veteran populations.

His therapeutic approach draws primarily from Gestalt and Rational Emotive Therapy, and he also integrates evidence-based interventions including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Paul specializes in trauma-informed care for veterans, first responders, healthcare professionals, and active military personnel.

In addition to his clinical work, Paul has experience in program development aimed at improving staff and client retention. He transitioned into full-time psychotherapy in 2011 and has continued to expand his expertise in serving high-stress populations.
