About
From playful interventions to evidence-based trauma treatments, Sarah Barajas brings a dynamic and client-centered approach to her work as a Psychological Associate. Sarah's therapeutic toolkit is both diverse and tailored to meet the unique needs of each client. She employs cognitive-behavioral techniques to address anxiety and behavior issues, skillfully identifying her clients' strengths and applying a solution-focused approach to help them overcome obstacles. For younger clients, Sarah incorporates play therapy, recognizing the power of play in facilitating healing and communication. She also offers support to parents, guiding them through the therapeutic process and empowering them to better support their children.
One of Sarah's notable offerings is EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), an evidence-based therapy for PTSD and other trauma-related symptoms. This powerful tool adds depth to her practice, allowing her to address deep-seated issues with proven effectiveness.
Sarah's approach to therapy is fundamentally humanistic and experiential. She believes in meeting clients where they are in life, carefully assessing their needs, and crafting an individualized treatment plan that draws from various therapeutic modalities. Her ultimate goal is to guide clients towards optimal health and help them realize their full potential.
With a strong educational background, Sarah earned her B.A. in Psychology from California State University Channel Islands and her M.A. in Clinical Psychology from Saybrook University.
