Shannon's educational journey began at Chapman University, where she earned her bachelor's degree in psychology. She then pursued her master's degree in clinical mental health counseling from Malone University, further developing her expertise in the field. Her commitment to ongoing learning is evident in her extensive training in addiction treatment, which includes assessing and making clinical decisions about appropriate levels of care and designing relapse prevention plans.
In addition to her clinical work, Shannon has served as a clinical supervisor for multiple locations, overseeing both individual and group supervision of clinical staff.
