Born and raised in the suburbs of Seattle, McLaughlin earned her Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Central Washington University. She completed her Master's in Psychology with a clinical emphasis at Eastern Washington University. Her move to Central Illinois marked the beginning of her career in mental health counseling.
McLaughlin uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and mindfulness practices. She believes in the power of the therapeutic relationship and honors each client's pace, helping them recognize meaningful progress. Clients can expect a supportive atmosphere that balances professional expertise with personal warmth.
