Alex Martinez

Alex Martinez, Intern, is working towards her master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Grand View University and brings both medical and behavioral health experience to her practice. She began as a certified nursing assistant in medical units and later served as a behavioral health counselor in an inpatient setting.

For four years she has provided educational skills groups and crisis stabilization for adolescents and adults and works with adolescents and adults navigating life transitions, depression, anxiety, ADHD, emotional regulation, stress management, and women's issues. Her approach is grounded in Existential-Humanistic principles, and she balances compassion with appropriate levity to build rapport.

Alex is currently seeing clients at the Des Moines location and aims to support clients in developing resilience and practical skills for daily challenges.
