Angela Ortiz

Angela Ortiz, CSWI, Licensed Masters Social Worker at Healing Minds, specializes in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Family and Marriage Counseling, and Individual Therapy. She draws on a diverse therapeutic toolkit to address a range of client needs.

She earned a Master of Social Work degree in 2018 from Western New Mexico University after a Bachelor of Social Work obtained in 2013 and an associate's degree in Criminal Justice. She worked as a Medical Social Worker in a local hospital providing crisis intervention and trauma care and in hospice offering grief counseling.

At Healing Minds she uses DBT skills to support emotion regulation and interpersonal effectiveness and creates a safe, non-judgmental space for clients. Originally from New Mexico and now based in Reno since 2013, her multicultural perspective and experience as a mother inform her work.
