Growing up in a multi-cultural, multi-class, and multi-religious family, she developed a keen interest in how culture shapes personal and collective experiences. This curiosity led her to major in Cultural Studies at Sarah Lawrence College, followed by a Master's degree from Smith College School for Social Work and a Graduate Fellowship at Stanford University.

Throughout her career, Astraea has worked with a wide spectrum of clients, from the most vulnerable members of society to the most privileged. Her experience spans across various life experiences, cultures, ethnicities, races, spiritualities, genders, and sexualities.
