Brett Matherne, LAC, Licensed Addiction Counselor, has Over three decades of personal recovery and 26 years of professional experience in addiction counseling. He is owner and CEO of New Start Recovery.

He leads treatment integrating 12 Step involvement with other evidence-based therapies tailored to each individual's needs and offers a range of services including Intensive Outpatient Programs, outpatient counseling, family support, and aftercare programs. His personal experiences and professional expertise help him connect with clients.

Born and raised in Houma, LA, he brings local insight to addressing the unique challenges faced by individuals in the oil and gas industry and provides flexible treatment options. His career includes experience in supervision, administration, and direct counseling, and he emphasizes addressing addiction as a holistic issue affecting mind, body, and spirit by building a solid foundation emotionally, physically, and spiritually.
