About

With over three decades of dedicated service, Candice Yeargin stands as a beacon of hope for those navigating life's most challenging waters. As a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and Certified Partner Trauma Therapist (CPTT) Candidate, Candice brings a wealth of experience to her practice at Life Balance Counseling Peoria, PLLC.

Candice's philosophy is grounded in the belief that every individual and family possesses the innate ability to heal and thrive in a healthy environment. Her approach is refreshingly direct – a "straight-shooter" who focuses on the positives, firmly believing that there are always strengths to build upon, even in the darkest of times. This perspective is particularly crucial in her trauma work, where she acknowledges that the simple act of seeking help can be the most significant hurdle for many.

Specializing in a wide array of areas including addiction, trauma, anger management, parenting, infidelity, and abuse, Candice's expertise is both broad and deep. Her training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) adds a powerful tool to her therapeutic arsenal, particularly effective in treating trauma. Additionally, her certification for working with military members and their families showcases her commitment to serving those who serve our country.

Candice's journey to becoming a therapist is as inspiring as her work. Born and raised in Central Illinois, she received her Bachelor's degree from Illinois State University and her Master's from Eastern Illinois University. However, it was the 17 years between these degrees that shaped her professional growth and ultimately led her to discover her true calling as a Clinical Therapist. This personal journey informs her practice, giving her a unique understanding of life's twists and turns.

At the heart of Candice's practice is her passion for working with children, teenagers, and their families. She recognizes that these foundational relationships are where life's journey begins for all of us, and sometimes that start isn't always smooth. Her career has been devoted to helping those who have the courage to seek assistance in dealing with life's challenges, firmly believing that each person is the captain of their own destiny.

Candice's approach is far from one-size-fits-all. She draws from multiple types of therapy, tailoring her methods to each client's unique needs. Whether you're a parent dealing with teenage behavior problems, a teenager struggling with parental issues, someone who has experienced trauma, or an individual needing to gain control over overwhelming emotions like anger, Candice is ready to provide the tools and guidance needed for positive change.

With credentials from major insurance companies and various Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs), Candice ensures accessibility to her services. Her invitation to potential clients is clear and heartfelt: "Give the office a call at (309)676-0538 and let's talk." It's a simple step that could be the beginning of a transformative journey towards better mental health and a more balanced life.
