Carolyn Short

Carolyn Short is a Certified Social Worker in Private or Independent Practice and a Registered Play Therapist. She earned her B.A. in Psychology (1999) and M.S.W. (2001) from the University of Georgia. Since 2010, she has made Spearfish her home after providing counseling services across Georgia, Minnesota, South Carolina, and Oklahoma.

Carolyn offers a grace-based, faith-friendly, and values-honoring approach that respects individual differences in belief. She is trained in EMDR (Level 2), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), the Gottman Method for couples, and Parenting with Love and Logic. In addition to adult care, she provides therapeutic play services for children 12 and under.
