Christian Martinez

Christian Martinez, Graduate Student Intern at Heights Family Counseling, supports adolescents and adults through life transitions, stress, anxiety, and depression.

He uses a person-centered approach and incorporates Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and cognitive approaches, with a focus on grief counseling; supporting the LGBTQ+ community; chronic illness and aging in older adults.

Christian earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with double minors in Philosophy and Sociology from the University of the Incarnate Word and is pursuing a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of St. Thomas, expected May 2025, under the supervision of Dr. Justyn Smith, PhD, LPC-S. He helps clients build resilience, self-compassion, and take meaningful action aligned with their values.
