Christian Martinez

Christian Martinez is a Graduate Student Intern at Heights Family Counseling. Martinez works with adolescents and adults navigating life transitions, stress, anxiety, and depression. He offers a person-centered approach, creating a non judgmental space where clients can share their burdens.

Martinez earned his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with minors in Philosophy and Sociology from the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio. He is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of St. Thomas, expecting to graduate in May 2025.

In sessions, Martinez incorporates Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and cognitive approaches. Clients work on accepting difficult emotions, cultivating mindfulness, and aligning actions with personal values. His practice includes a focus on grief counseling, LGBTQ+ support, and issues related to chronic illness and aging. Clients can anticipate a supportive environment to address distressing situations.
