About
Cole Marta, MD, is a licensed psychiatrist and co-founder and Medical Director of the California Center for Psychedelic Therapy. He is an assistant clinical professor of psychiatry and neurology at Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science.
He specializes in psychedelic-assisted psychotherapies, including ketamine-assisted psychotherapy, for mood disorders, anxiety and PTSD. He has been primary clinical investigator for MDMA‑assisted PTSD trials (phase II–III) since 2017 and for phase III psilocybin trials for treatment‑resistant depression since 2023.
Dr. Marta earned his MD from the Chicago Medical School and completed residency at the UCLA San Fernando Valley VA Psychiatry Training Program. His clinical work emphasizes trauma‑informed, ethical practice, harm reduction, and integration of research with psychotherapy and medication management.
