Emilea Gross
MS, LCMHC, ADHD-CCSP • Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor
About
Embracing authenticity and thriving in one's unique way of being are the cornerstones of Emilea Gross's therapeutic approach. As a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and ADHD Certified Clinical Services Provider, Emilea specializes in guiding teens and adults to discover and celebrate their true selves, particularly those navigating the complexities of ADHD.
With a background spanning high school counseling, ADHD coaching, and mental health therapy, Emilea brings a wealth of experience to her practice. Her education includes a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a Master's degree in Counseling, both from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG). This solid academic foundation, coupled with her practical experience, allows her to offer a comprehensive and empathetic approach to therapy.
Emilea's therapeutic philosophy is rooted in the belief that deep and meaningful healing comes from allowing individuals to be their full, integrated selves. She employs an eclectic approach, drawing from mindfulness, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Solution-focused therapy, and Narrative therapy within a Person-Centered framework. Her practice is queer-affirming, and she operates from a weight-inclusive, Fat Positive, and Intuitive Eating approach when addressing body image and disordered eating concerns.
Trained in Brainspotting, a brain-based trauma protocol, Emilea is equipped to help clients process and release core sources of emotional and body pain. Her expertise extends to working with individuals dealing with depression, anxiety, eating disorders, ADHD, perfectionism, trauma, grief, stress, academic challenges, and identity concerns. Emilea's goal is never to change who her clients are, but rather to help them learn skills for embracing all parts of themselves and thriving in environments that may not always appreciate their unique way of being.
In her practice, Emilea creates a safe space where clients can explore and accept all aspects of themselves. Whether it's related to queerness, ADHD, body size, skin color, or any other unique way of experiencing the world, Emilea is committed to helping her clients be more of who they are, not less. Her approach is not about hiding or changing, but about empowering individuals to live fuller, more integrated lives.
