Driven by a passion for pleasure activism and liberation, Erynn Besser (they/she) creates an affirming, sex-positive space where clients can explore their experiences and identities. As a queer-identified Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) and AASECT Certified Sex Therapist (CST), Erynn brings a unique blend of expertise to their practice at Centered Therapy Chicago.

Erynn's approach is grounded in a holistic, collaborative, and relational lens. They specialize in working with the LGBTQIA+ and non-monogamous communities, addressing a wide range of concerns including identity exploration, self-esteem, relationships, and sexual issues. Their areas of focus encompass sexual functioning, Kink/BDSM, desire discrepancy, communication, and boundary setting. Erynn works with both individuals and partnerships, bringing creativity, humor, and authenticity to support clients on their path towards healing, empowerment, and liberation.

With a deep understanding of systemic oppression, Erynn creates a therapeutic environment that acknowledges the challenges of living authentically in the face of societal constraints. They are knowledgeable about psychedelic medicines and maintain a drug user-friendly stance, further exemplifying their commitment to holistic care and harm reduction principles.

As a clinical supervisor, Erynn extends their expertise to developing clinicians. Their supervisory style is warm and collaborative, emphasizing cultural humility, curiosity, and reflective practice. Erynn guides supervisees in exploring systemic and cultural influences within therapeutic practice, developing comprehensive case conceptualizations, and deepening their understanding of clinical transference and countertransference.

Erynn holds a Master's degree in Counseling Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, complementing their LCPC and CST credentials. Their educational background, combined with their professional experience and personal insights, allows Erynn to offer a truly integrative and inclusive approach to therapy and supervision.
