James Meginley

James Meginley, Ph.D., is a Counseling Psychologist and Certified Diplomate Sex Therapist at Alternatives Counseling Associates. He works with individuals, couples, and families on relationship and human sexuality issues, providing sex therapy and clinical support for a range of concerns.

With over four decades of clinical experience, Dr. Meginley has since 1980 helped thousands of clients address dysfunctional relationship patterns, self-image, and related challenges and has experience treating the LGBTIQA community. He practices within Alternatives Counseling Associates and serves the tri-state community of Tennessee, Georgia, and Alabama.

Dr. Meginley tailors techniques to each client's needs and emphasizes a professional, supportive environment that fosters open exploration and practical progress. His approach centers on empathy, collaboration, and informed, respectful care for sexual and relational concerns.
