Kate Godsey, LMFT, has over three and a half decades of dedicated experience in mental health. She earned a Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from San Francisco State University and was licensed in California in 1994 and more recently in New Mexico in 2020.
She specializes in PTSD, trauma exposure, depression, anxiety, substance abuse, loss and grief, personality disorders, marital issues, family/child issues, and cultural issues, with particular passion for working with adolescents and young adults. She has 20 years of experience in the criminal justice system and extensive work with 'transitional age youth' (ages 18-26).
Trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-informed care, Systems Therapy for families and couples, Addiction Treatment Models, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Brief Psychodynamic Therapy, she tailors interventions to each client's needs. At Mindful Counseling's northeast office she offers individual, couples, and family counseling to clients ranging from 12 to 65 years old and takes a versatile and collaborative approach, viewing the therapeutic relationship as a true partnership and the trust clients place in her as a privilege.
