Kelly Browning
LISW • Licensed Independent Social Worker
About
Healing and wholeness are at the heart of Kelly Browning's therapeutic approach. As a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) in Ohio, Kelly believes that everyone is born with an essential nature of wholeness, and it's never too late to reconnect with that innate state. Her practice is built on the understanding that life's challenges, traumas, and inequities can leave us feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or struggling to manage our emotions, but through therapy, we can find a path back to balance and thriving.
Kelly earned her Bachelor of Arts in Social Work from Wright State University and went on to complete her Master of Social Work through a joint program at Wright State University and Miami University, concentrating on children and families. Her educational background, combined with her training as an EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapist, equips her with a diverse set of tools to support her clients' healing journeys.
In her practice, Kelly employs a client-centered and strengths-based approach, partnering with clients to develop individual goals and objectives. She utilizes various modalities including EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and mindfulness techniques. These interventions are designed to help clients strengthen their ability to make decisions and choose behaviors aligned with their present values, rather than past struggles.
Kelly is passionate about honoring each client's intersectionality through cultural humility. She holds space for and advocates for marginalized populations impacted by social injustices, viewing her clients as the experts on their own lives. This perspective allows her to walk alongside clients in their healing journey, providing a supportive and non-judgmental space where they can explore past challenges and build adaptive coping skills.
At Collective Good Integrative Health in Dayton, Ohio, Kelly contributes to a community of independent health practitioners who share values of inclusion, compassion, and respect. Her practice embodies the collective's mission of providing client-centered, humanizing, and heartfelt care. Through her work, Kelly strives to help clients move from surviving to thriving, enabling them to be intentional and present in their daily lives.
