About
With a holistic approach that blends traditional therapy techniques with mind-body practices, Lindsey Nogueira-Mayo, LCSW, LADC I, offers a unique and comprehensive path to mental health and substance use recovery. As both a Licensed Certified Social Worker and Licensed Drug & Alcohol Counselor in Massachusetts, Lindsey brings a wealth of experience to her practice, specializing in anxiety, mood disorders, substance use disorders, trauma, and ADHD.
Lindsey's therapeutic approach is as diverse as the clients she serves. She skillfully employs a combination of evidence-based methods, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and motivational interviewing. This versatile toolkit allows her to tailor treatment plans to each client's specific needs and goals. Additionally, Lindsey incorporates relapse prevention strategies and mind-body approaches, reflecting her commitment to treating the whole person, not just isolated symptoms.
Since 2015, Lindsey has been dedicated to helping adults navigate the complex landscape of mental health and substance use disorders. Her authentic approach to building therapeutic relationships is founded on the belief that each client possesses inherent strengths, values, and passions that can be harnessed in their recovery journey. Lindsey works collaboratively with her clients to shift limiting beliefs, empowering them to embrace their authentic selves and live fulfilling lives.
Lindsey's academic journey reflects her commitment to holistic health and psychology. She earned her Bachelor's Degree from Goddard College in 2014, where she focused on the intersection of holistic health and psychology. Furthering her expertise, she obtained a certificate in Drug & Alcohol Abuse Counseling from Assumption University in 2018 and completed her Master's Degree in Social Work from Simmons University in 2021. As a member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW), Lindsey stays current with the latest developments in her field.
Beyond her clinical training, Lindsey is also a certified Reiki II practitioner, adding another dimension to her holistic approach to wellness. When she's not helping clients, Lindsey enjoys playing musical instruments, gardening, cooking, and spending quality time with her cats and spouse. These personal interests not only contribute to her own well-being but also inform her understanding of the importance of balance and self-care in mental health.
