Marie Mercado

Dr. Marie Mercado, Psy.D., Clinical Psychologist at Brooklyn Integrative Psychological Services, brings over two decades of experience. A NYC native, she has worked in outpatient, inpatient, community mental health, college counseling, and non-profit settings.

She uses an integrative model combining psychodynamic and psychoanalytic techniques with cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), schema therapy, DBT, and interpersonal therapies. Her advanced training includes Emotionally-Focused Therapy (EFT) with Dr. Sue Johnson and recently added Ericksonian Hypnosis.

Dr. Mercado has specialized training for LGBTQIA individuals and people with serious mental illness and also works with students, families, and developmental disabilities. She supervises LMSWs/MHCs and Ph.D./Psy.D. candidates and aims to blend evidence-based therapies with neuroscience and Eastern philosophies to tailor care.
