About

Emotions are at the heart of our most profound human experiences, yet they often become the source of our greatest struggles. Marta Kem, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, has dedicated her career to helping individuals and couples navigate the complex landscape of their emotional lives. With a unique approach that combines Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP), Marta offers a path to healing that is both deeply compassionate and scientifically grounded.

As a Certified Emotionally Focused Couples Therapist and Supervisor, Marta specializes in helping couples rebuild connection and trust. Her expertise extends beyond relationship counseling to include individual therapy for anxiety and depression. Marta's approach is rooted in the belief that our emotions, when properly understood and expressed, can be powerful catalysts for personal growth and relational healing.

Marta's journey to becoming a therapist is as unique as her approach. Originally from Poland, she immigrated to the United States in 2001, where her experiences as an au pair sparked her interest in family dynamics and interpersonal relationships. This led her to pursue advanced training in applied counseling and family therapy. Her educational background includes post-graduate training at Denver Family Institute and a Master of Arts in Clinical Counseling with an emphasis on Couples and Family Therapy from the University of Northern Colorado.

In her practice, Marta goes beyond traditional talk therapy. She creates experiences with clients during sessions, focusing on fostering awareness of their emotional world as it unfolds in real-time. This experiential approach allows clients to take pieces of their therapeutic journey and apply them directly to their lives outside of sessions. Marta's work is further informed by the insights of renowned experts in the field, including Diana Fosha, Peter Levine, and Brene Brown.

Marta's commitment to growth extends beyond her clients to her own professional development. She regularly attends trainings and receives supervision to ensure she brings the best of herself to her practice. This dedication has earned her recognition from both clients and colleagues, who praise her warm presence, clinical wisdom, and ability to create a safe environment for emotional exploration.

Whether you're struggling with relationship issues, battling anxiety or depression, or simply seeking to understand yourself better, Marta Kem offers a therapeutic experience that is both transformative and deeply respectful of your unique journey. Her practice, Vibrant Couples & Individual Counseling, stands as a testament to the power of emotion-focused work in creating more vibrant, connected lives.
