McKenna Emmerich

McKenna Emmerich, MA, NCC, is a Licensed Resident in Counseling at Brickel and Associates in Old Town Alexandria, Virginia. She uses a strengths-based, trauma-informed, person-centered approach that emphasizes empathy and unconditional positive regard.

McKenna has worked in crisis centers and partial hospitalization programs and provides care for adolescents, adults, couples, groups, and families. Her clinical specialties include trauma, anxiety, depression, perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, substance use, relationship issues, and attachment concerns.

She integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and expressive therapies to tailor treatment and support meaningful change. McKenna is pursuing full licensure and practices under the supervision of Sharon Watson, LPC, LMFT, LSATP, NCC, ACS and Robyn Brickel, M.A., LMFT.
