Mike Klitgaard

Mike Klitgaard, Associate Clinical Mental Health Counselor, earned an MA in Professional Counseling (clinical mental health counseling) from Texas State University after completing a bachelor's in theology and a master's in diaconia at Aarhus University.

He specializes in trauma, anxiety, depression, faith crises, life transitions, loneliness, relationships, and intimate partner violence (IPV), working with clients aged 8 and up. He has particular experience with adolescents and men and has served these groups through NGO work.

Born and raised in Denmark, Mike trained as a paramedic in the Danish military and has worked in roles such as construction painter, salesperson, and telephone interviewer. He emphasizes finding internal motivation and practical stress-management outlets and creates a safe space to address screen dependency, shame, and guilt.
