As a Florida Board Certified Behavioral Health Case Manager Supervisor, Myra brings a wealth of expertise to her practice, offering a comprehensive approach to mental wellness.
Myra's educational journey began at Northern Illinois University, where she earned a BA in Sociology, laying the foundation for her understanding of human behavior in social contexts. She further honed her skills with a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walden University, equipping her with advanced therapeutic techniques. Her commitment to addressing trauma led her to obtain certification as a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional from Evergreen Certifications, enhancing her ability to support clients through their most challenging experiences.
Throughout her extensive career, Myra has developed a diverse skill set, working with a wide range of clients and issues. Her experience spans from adolescents and teens to adults, addressing various mental health concerns including substance abuse and anger management. She has also specialized in working with children and adults with developmental disabilities, at-risk youth, foster care families, and adoptive families. This breadth of experience allows her to tailor her approach to each client's unique needs and circumstances.
Myra employs a variety of evidence-based treatment approaches in her practice. Her toolkit includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, play therapy techniques, and art therapy techniques. She also utilizes psychoeducation and group counseling to provide comprehensive care.
