About
From the heart of Utah to the vibrant city of San Antonio, Niki Ellis, LPC, brings a wealth of experience in addressing complex mental health challenges. Specializing in substance use disorders and a wide range of mental health issues, Niki offers a compassionate and comprehensive approach to therapy that draws from her diverse background and specialized training.
With a master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Antioch University, Niki has honed her skills over nine years at a residential dual-diagnosis treatment center in Utah. This experience has given her deep insights into the intricate relationships between substance abuse and mental health disorders. Her areas of expertise extend beyond addiction to encompass anxiety, depression, PTSD, cultural and religious trauma, and the unique challenges faced by the LGBTQ+ community.
Niki's therapeutic approach is both eclectic and evidence-based. She primarily employs Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and mindfulness techniques, which form the cornerstone of her practice. However, her toolkit also includes Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and other trauma-informed practices. This diverse skill set allows her to tailor her approach to each client's individual needs and experiences.
At the heart of Niki's philosophy is the belief in creating a safe space for growth, reflection, and education. She is committed to providing her clients with practical resources they can incorporate into their daily lives, empowering them on their journey towards healing and self-discovery. Her goal is not just to address immediate concerns but to equip her clients with the tools they need for long-term well-being and resilience.
As a recent transplant to San Antonio, Niki brings a fresh perspective to her practice at Green Mountain Counseling.
