Reginald Owens

Reginald Owens, MS, CIT, Counselor at New Start Recovery brings eight years of personal recovery and sobriety and clinical training to his work. He holds a Master's Degree in Addiction Counseling from Purdue University and combines evidence-based techniques with 12-step programs and abstinence-based treatment to support addiction recovery.

A graduate of the very program he now serves, he works within a team with over 37 years of combined sobriety and recovery and contributes to intensive outpatient programs, family support, and aftercare services. His experience allows him to integrate practical, real-world strategies with clinical approaches.

His lived experience and training inform an empathetic, person-centered approach focused on sustaining recovery, and as a lifelong resident of Houma, LA he tailors care to local needs. Outside of work he spends time with his wife and children.
