About
Dr. Sarah Kertz is the owner and director of Anxiety Specialists of St. Louis. She works with adult women experiencing anxiety disorders, including OCD symptoms, specific phobias, panic attacks, and perinatal mood and anxiety disorders. Kertz supports pregnant women and new mothers facing intrusive thoughts.
Dr. Kertz earned her Ph.D. in clinical psychology from the University of Louisville in 2011. She completed a predoctoral internship and postdoctoral fellowship at McLean Hospital/Harvard Medical School. Before focusing on clinical work in 2020, she spent eight years in academia, teaching and supervising psychology students, and has published over 35 peer-reviewed articles.
Kertz employs cognitive behavioral therapy, inference-based therapy for OCD, exposure and response prevention, and mindfulness strategies. Her approach is progress-focused and structured, encouraging homework and progress tracking. Clients can expect practical strategies and a supportive environment to face their challenges outside of therapy sessions.
