Shelby DeBause

Shelby DeBause, M.A., LMFT, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, is Clinical Director at Genesis Counseling Center. She began in 1999 and brings extensive clinical experience to her leadership role.

She specializes in mood issues including anxiety and depression and works with food and body image concerns, spiritual issues, and self-worth challenges. Her training includes a Master's degree from Appalachian State University and a two-year residency at a psychiatric hospital in the Washington D.C. area.

Shelby supervises residents and is a Collaborating Field Trials Investigator for the American Psychiatric Association. She is caring and affirming to all clients and aims to create a safe, nurturing environment for growth.
