Shelly McCormick

Shelly McCormick, MA, NCC, LMHC, is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor serving the Bradenton/Sarasota Area. She holds a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of South Florida.

She focuses on trauma therapy, crisis counseling, sex abuse, dissociative identity disorder, ADHD, and behavioral issues. She is a Certified Clinical Trauma Therapist and uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Accelerated Resolution Therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, and Brief Solution Focused Therapy.

Her experience includes residential adult substance abuse facilities, foster care, inpatient psychiatric units, and work with incarcerated youth. She works with clients ranging from 7 to 60 years old at New Beginnings Counseling, with a warm, collaborative focus on safety and practical steps to healing.
