Stefanie Scudera

With a diverse background spanning inpatient, outpatient, and supportive housing settings, Stefanie Scudera, LMHC, brings a wealth of experience to her practice as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. Her journey in the field of mental health began at Pace University, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, graduating Cum Laude. She furthered her education by obtaining a Master of Science Degree in Mental Health Counseling from the same institution in 2007, becoming licensed in 2011.

Stefanie's academic achievements are notable, as she was a member of Psi Chi, the International Honor Society in Psychology. This recognition speaks to her dedication to excellence in the field of psychology from the early stages of her career.

Her professional experience is characterized by a wide range of settings and populations. Stefanie's work with children and adolescents began during her internship at Four Winds Hospital in Katonah, NY, where she worked in both inpatient psychiatric and outpatient partial program settings. After graduation, she continued to focus on youth, working with adolescents at risk for PINS Petitions at Green Chimneys in Brewster, NY.

For six years prior to joining Cognitive Therapy of Staten Island in 2013, Stefanie dedicated her efforts to working with homeless and formerly homeless individuals. During this time at Project Hospitality, Inc., she gained valuable experience in treating individuals with mental illness and substance use diagnoses. This experience undoubtedly broadened her clinical skills and deepened her understanding of the complex interplay between mental health, substance use, and social circumstances.

Stefanie's diverse background allows her to bring a unique perspective to her current practice at Cognitive Therapy of Staten Island. Her experience with various age groups and in different treatment settings equips her to handle a wide array of mental health concerns.
