About

In a world where stressors multiply and inner peace seems elusive, Sydney Rowley stands as a beacon of holistic wellness and empowerment. As a Graduate Level Clinical Intern and Therapist pursuing her M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Northwestern University, Sydney brings a fresh perspective to the therapeutic process, aiming to help diverse individuals reconnect with their inner selves and find balance in an increasingly complex world.

Sydney's approach is rooted in a deep commitment to creating a safe, affirming space for individuals from all walks of life. She specializes in guiding clients towards holistic wellness through the implementation of affirmative attitudes, personalized self-care plans, and life-balance strategies. Her passion lies in empowering clients to explore deep meaning and cultivate fulfilling relationships using evidence-based treatment interventions.

With a diverse background of experience, Sydney has worked with a wide range of populations, including individuals facing homelessness, those with disabilities, people struggling with severe mental health challenges, survivors of elder and disability abuse, and those grappling with persistent low mood and hopelessness. This breadth of experience informs her compassionate and adaptable approach to therapy.

Sydney offers individual therapy for young adults, older adults, and parents in need of support. She has a particular affinity for working with individuals who identify as LGBTQIA+ and/or BIPOC. Her areas of specialization include addressing patterns of addiction, building self-worth, managing anxiety and depression, facilitating trauma recovery, combating burnout, exploring gender identity, and tackling women's issues.

In her therapeutic practice, Sydney primarily draws from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). This integrative approach allows her to tailor her methods to each client's unique needs and goals, fostering an environment of growth and self-discovery.

Beyond her professional pursuits, Sydney finds solace and inspiration in nature, often practicing mindfulness outdoors. Her love for the outdoors, coupled with her diverse personal interests - from sports to baking - adds depth to her therapeutic approach, allowing her to connect with clients on multiple levels and bring a well-rounded perspective to her practice.
