Talle Selhorst
LCSW • Licensed Clinical Social Worker
About
Driven by a fascination with relationships and the interconnectedness of all things, Talle Selhorst, LCSW, brings a unique systems-focused approach to her therapeutic practice. As a licensed clinical social worker, Talle recognizes that individuals are systems within larger systems, and healing requires addressing the impacts of family, community, and society on one's well-being.
Talle's journey in social work began with her Master's degree from the University of Maryland Baltimore in 2009. Her early career as a Wraparound Facilitator provided valuable experience working with youth and families navigating complex systems like child welfare, juvenile justice, and special education. This background informs her current practice, where she expertly guides clients through their own systemic challenges.
At the core of Talle's practice are the principles of integrity, social justice, and service. She approaches each therapeutic relationship by recognizing and incorporating the strengths, wisdom, and resilience that clients bring. Talle creates a safe, inclusive space where clients feel heard and valued, regardless of their background or identity. Her practice is body positive, sex positive, and culturally humble, reflecting her commitment to honoring each client's unique experiences and needs.
Talle specializes in a wide range of areas, including trauma and PTSD, anxiety, addictions, anger management, depression, grief and loss, and issues related to ADHD, autism, and gender dysphoria. She is particularly adept at working with members of the LGBTQIA2S+ community, offering expert support for those navigating issues of identity, relationships, and societal challenges.
In her therapeutic approach, Talle employs a diverse set of modalities tailored to each client's needs. These include Trauma-Informed Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy, Expressive Arts Therapy, and Mindfulness practices. This eclectic toolkit allows her to adapt her approach to best serve each individual client, working collaboratively to develop a unique set of coping skills and strategies.
Talle views therapy as a partnership, where the client's direction in treatment is paramount. She works with adults 18 and older, guiding them through their healing journey with compassion, expertise, and a deep understanding of the complex systems that influence their lives. Whether addressing trauma, managing anxiety, or exploring issues of identity and self-esteem, Talle provides a supportive environment where clients can grow, heal, and transform.
