Wanetta Roetcisoender
LCSW • Licensed Clinical Social Worker
About
Rooted in a unique Mennonite upbringing and guided by a deep-seated faith, Wanetta Roetcisoender, LCSW, brings a distinctive perspective to her role as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Her journey from a transitioning Mennonite/Amish community to becoming a professional therapist has shaped her approach to mental health, blending traditional values with modern therapeutic techniques.
Wanetta's educational background is as diverse as her professional experience. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in social work with a concentration in children with special needs from Bloomsburg University, and a Master's degree in social work (MSW) with a specialization in health social work from the University of Maryland at Baltimore. This robust academic foundation has equipped her with a comprehensive understanding of various social work domains.
Throughout her career, Wanetta has accumulated a wealth of experience in diverse settings. Her internship in Baltimore provided her with invaluable exposure to therapy for HIV/AIDS patients and socio-economically disadvantaged individuals. She further honed her skills working with a foster family agency, specializing in children with disabilities and severe behavior problems. Her time in hospice care, counseling patients and families facing terminal illness, has given her a unique perspective on grief and end-of-life issues.
Since 2007, Wanetta has been an integral part of Associated Christian Therapy Services, Inc. (ACTS), initially as an intern and now as a licensed practitioner. She received her LCSW license in 2010, solidifying her expertise in the field. As a generalist practitioner, she sees individuals, couples, and families, bringing her varied experience to bear in each therapeutic relationship.
Wanetta specializes in Christian therapy, grief therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and family systems theory. This combination allows her to offer a holistic approach to mental health, addressing not only psychological needs but also spiritual aspects when appropriate. Her background enables her to connect with clients from various walks of life, offering empathy, understanding, and professional guidance.
Currently residing in Palmdale with her husband and two children, Wanetta's personal life enriches her professional practice. Her experience as a wife and mother, combined with her unique upbringing, allows her to relate to a wide range of family dynamics and personal challenges.
