Amy Gawrych

Amy Gawrych, Psy.D., is a licensed clinical psychologist in New York State and owner of Peace of Mind Psychological Services. She earned her MS and Doctor of Psychology from Hofstra University and holds a provisional certification in School Psychology.

She specializes in depression, mood disorders, generalized anxiety disorder, panic disorder, fears and phobias, adjustment disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and marital and relational conflicts. She uses Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Solution-Focused Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy, and mindfulness.

She embraces Aaron Beck's cognitive therapy principle: 'It is not bad things happening to us, but it is our interpretation of them that makes all the difference.' In a warm, non-judgmental setting she supports positive lifestyle changes, stress reduction, and disease management to help clients reframe thoughts and improve well-being.
