Her diverse upbringing informs her culturally sensitive approach, allowing her to connect with clients from various backgrounds and life experiences.
Ana's academic journey reflects her commitment to understanding the human experience from multiple angles. She holds a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Florida Gulf Coast University, complemented by a Master of Arts in Micronesian Studies from the University of Guam and a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from the University of Florida. This interdisciplinary education equips Ana with a holistic understanding of human behavior and cultural dynamics, enriching her therapeutic approach.
In her practice, Ana utilizes a person-centered approach, drawing from a diverse toolkit of therapeutic modalities. She seamlessly integrates Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Play Therapy, Expressive Arts, Mindfulness, Meditation, Somatic Therapy, and Narrative Therapy to tailor treatment to each client's unique needs. Ana's professional experience includes internships at the FGCU Community Counseling Center and Project Help, Inc., where she honed her skills in working with diverse populations and complex issues. Her fluency in Spanish further enhances her ability to connect with and support Spanish-speaking clients, breaking down language barriers in the therapeutic process.
