Andrea DePetris, Ph.D., is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and Supervising Psychologist at Therapists of New York with a psychodynamic orientation and holistic wellness coaching. She is trained in traumatic stress and post-traumatic stress disorder, emotionally-focused therapy for couples, and cognitive behavioral therapy for substance abuse, insomnia, chronic pain, and weight loss.
Dr. DePetris earned her doctorate in clinical psychology from the University of Connecticut and completed clinical training at the Cambridge Health Alliance Center for Multicultural Mental Health Research, the University of Connecticut Psychological Services Clinic, and the Veteran Affairs Connecticut Healthcare System. She previously served as a staff psychologist and Director for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at Yale Health, Mental Health & Counseling, and holds an academic appointment at the Yale University School of Medicine.
A Black, biracial psychologist, Dr. DePetris uses a multicultural lens and integrates her training as a Kripalu Yoga Instructor and studies at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition to address psychological and physiological aspects of wellbeing. She creates a space for clients to explore emotional wounds, conflictual attachments, and life stressors while tailoring care to each person’s needs.
