Arthur Rice brings a unique blend of military experience and clinical expertise to his role as a Clinical Professional Counselor Intern. As a U.S. Navy Veteran who served as a Hospital Corpsman 3rd class and a former EMT first responder, Arthur has a profound understanding of the challenges faced by veterans and first responders. This background fuels his passion for working with these populations, providing them with specialized care that addresses their unique needs.
Specializing in trauma therapy, grief and loss, addictions, anxiety, and depression, Arthur's approach is rooted in the belief that "Pain is guaranteed, but suffering is optional." This philosophy underpins his therapeutic work, emphasizing that while past events may cause pain, individuals have the power to overcome suffering through effective coping strategies and resolution.
Arthur's focus in therapy is to create a safe and welcoming environment where clients feel comfortable exploring their therapeutic journey. He believes in the importance of individualized treatment, recognizing that each client is unique and deserves a tailored approach to their healing process. His goal is to empower clients to find resolve and develop effective coping mechanisms.
Currently pursuing his M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at UNLV, Arthur also holds a B.S. in Psychology with a minor in Human Development and Family Studies from The Pennsylvania State University. His diverse training includes certifications in EMDR and Parts & Memory therapy, as well as experience in various therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic approach, and Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy.
Arthur's experience extends beyond traditional counseling, encompassing group counseling, addictions treatment, grief and loss counseling, and domestic violence advocacy. This broad range of expertise allows him to address a wide spectrum of client needs, from trauma and anxiety to family counseling and multicultural issues.
