About
Standing at the fork in the road of life, Brittany Roback, LCPC, CADC, serves as a guiding light for children, teens, and families navigating the complexities of mental health. As a co-owner of Inner Courage Counseling, Brittany brings a unique blend of playful therapy techniques and emotions-focused behaviorism to her practice, creating a safe and nurturing environment for clients of all ages.
Brittany's journey in mental health began with her Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling from Lewis University in 2013, where she specialized in working with children and adolescents. This foundation, coupled with her Certified Alcohol and other Drug Counselor (CADC) certification obtained in 2014, has equipped her to address a wide range of issues, from family dynamics and behavioral concerns to substance use and grief.
With a career spanning various school settings, including Valley View School District-365U, West Aurora School District-129, and East Aurora School District-131, Brittany has honed her skills in making mental health therapy accessible and consistent for students who might otherwise struggle to receive support. Her experience working within educational environments has given her invaluable insights into the challenges students face, allowing her to collaborate effectively with school professionals to foster student success.
Brittany's approach as an emotions-focused behaviorist sets her apart. She excels at identifying the underlying emotions and needs driving behaviors, working collaboratively with clients to establish achievable goals and create actionable plans. Her passion for working alongside parents, coupled with her ability to provide gentle guidance through grief and loss, demonstrates her commitment to holistic family wellness.
"Every adult can look back in their life to a time they wished they had a safe adult they could confide in for knowledge, skills, and support," Brittany reflects. This understanding fuels her dedication to being that trusted confidant for the children and teens she counsels, helping them navigate growing pains safely and effectively. Whether addressing anxiety, substance use, or family disputes, Brittany's diverse experience and compassionate approach make her a valuable ally in the journey toward mental health and inner peace.
